Vancouver Skyline from Stanley Park

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
November 27, 2013
Nikon D3100: Tamron 18-270 at 23 mm.: ISO 360: 1/500 sec.:  f/11
From Stanley Park, you can get a beautiful view of downtown Vancouver.  A tripod and decent light would have been nice, but I made do with the couple minutes I had to spare.

This is the same location as this shot, but taken from a different angle where you could catch the last color of the sunrise.

Ferry Ride to Vancouver

British Columbia, Canada
November 27, 2013
Nikon D3100: Tamron 18-270 at 120 mm: ISO 400: 1/400 sec.: f/11
After our fun day in and around Victoria, we woke up and headed to catch the ferry to Vancouver.  This was probably my favorite view of the ferry ride as you will see I got another shot of it with some of the sunrise colors still lingering in another post.

Chinese Cemetary

Victoria, British Columbia, Canada
November 26, 2013
Nikon D3100: Tamron 18-270 at 23 mm: ISO 800: 1/4 sec.: f/3.50
I had high hopes for this cemetary as it was looking over the ocean and we were headed there just in time for the sunset.  Unfortunately, the streets were crazily changing names on us and we got lost.  We finally found it after it was nearly dark and there were no colors.  I had to open the aperture completely to get enough light to make the image.

British Columbia Parliament

Victoria, British Columbia, Canada
November 26, 2013
Nikon D3100: Tamron 18-270 at 18 mm: ISO 400: 1/100 sec.: f/9
The Parliament building was very impressive.  We took the free tour that was very insightful.  The tour guide was great and since there were so few people we could ask plenty of questions.  Afterwards, we went over to Thunderbird Park and then walking back to the car I saw these clouds and stopped to take a few shots.

Fort Rodd Hill Park, Colwood, British Columbia, Canada
November 26, 2013
Nikon D3100: Tamron 18-290 at 92 mm: ISO 400: 1/160 sec.: f/9
We enjoyed wandering around the military park and seeing the old guns and all that, but the lighthouse was definitely the highlight.  I would love to shoot it with some good light.

Hatley Castle

Colwood, British Columbia
November 26, 2013
Nikon D3100: Tamron 18-270 at 27 mm: ISO 400: 1/200 sec.: f/10
After arriving on Vancouver Island, we drove over to Goldstream Provincial Park to watch the salmon run.  From there, we headed over to the Hatley Park National Historic Park to see the castle.  It was a beautiful old stone building with a view of the water.  It has since been turned into a university.  Unfortunately, they were in finals so the building was closed off.  That didn't stop me from sneaking in and peeking around a few of the beautiful rooms before heading back out.

Welder

Friday Harbor, Washington
November 26, 2013
Nikon D3100: Tamron 18-270 at 140 mm: ISO 400: 1/800 sec.: f/6.0
We were docked for a while at Friday Harbor and we were right next to some workers that were doing some welding on structures out on the water.
